imagineer Samir
Hello, thanks for checking in to see what this is all about. I am an Egyptian-American living in England, striving to have a positive impact on the world. I am more interested in what unites us than what divides us.
Below you’ll find some details about some of the many faces that I manifest on this site. If you are looking for more of a CV/Resume style breakdown, you might want to try the LinkedIn link at the bottom of the page.
Faces of Samir
Creative
Writing is my primary creative outlet, though I also dabble in other mediums such as photography, drawing and music. You will find here writing samples of my fiction and poetry and, of course, creativity cannot help but be applied to other elements of this site as well.
If you like my writing and want to support it more fully, you may want to join my Patreon.
Toastmasters, Imagined Anew
Since joining Toastmasters International in 2012, I have found the encouraging communities to be a source of great personal and professional development. My Toastmasters journey has been diverse, ranging from the club above a pub, to corporate clubs, to advanced clubs, to online clubs. In each community, I have benefited from the opportunities to practice communication and leadership skills in a safe, encouraging and fun environment. You will find here some of my insights and ponderings born out of my Toastmasters experience.
imagineer Samir
As an imagineer, I seek to practice and promote means by which we can imagine new and better futures for ourselves, our communities, and our world through what I call imagineering – a portmanteau of imagine and engineering. First imagine the possibility then engineer, or plan and act, to make that imagined outcome a reality.
Since 2016, I have been running Making it Real, a free workshop that guides participants through the practice of imagineering to begin establishing a mind set of the possible and crafting the first steps towards making it real.
In 2025, I am expanding Making it Real from an annual workshop to a course offering with a membership community that will be called Scouting Our Future.
Other
Other is what I usually have to put down on forms and surveys seeking to quantify my ethnicity. I can play that game here too, Other, keeps my options open to provide other content that may not necessarily be quantifiable on the about page at this time. If you get it, you get it, if you don’t, stick around, you might.
IMAGINE Anew!
Imagine a new you!
Imagine a new world!
